BUKI the Clown is loved by Bay Area kids and adults, alike. She is gentle with shy kids, has a very nonscary, friendly look, and loves to play. Her Silly Magic Show is theatrical and slapstick. She gets belly laughs from kids within the first moments of her show.

BUKI does masterful face painting, using appropriate amounts and types of high end cosmetic grade face paints and glitters, which all wash off with water. When Buki paints a face, the child looks in the mirror and falls in love with themselves!

BUKI does great balloon animals, too.

Kids LoveBUKI's SILLY MAGIC SHOWBuki's Silly Magic Show inspires belly laughs in children ages 3 and up, although sometimes even younger children are enthralled! Buki has performed her show for audiences as few as four children to as many as four hundred!

Most magic is performed so that only the magician knows how something is done and we, as adults, are intrigued. However, young kids don't know how a lot of things are done. In fact, parents are constantly performing small feats that children have no idea as to the process.

In Buki's Silly Magic Show, it is the children who perform the magic, and when they do, no one is more surprised and delighted than Buki! The kids are the smart ones, and they take great delight in being smarter than the Clown!!!

Buki's Silly Magic Show is highly educational, but the kids are so busy laughing and having fun, they don't realize how much they are learning.

Face Painting

Buki is an artist in many media, but my preferred canvas is the face of a child. I often do full-face design, so that the child can become their fantasy, be it a princess, butterfly, Spiderman, skeleton, etc. One of my favorite moments is when the child first sees themselves in the mirror, and suddenly astonishment and wonder wash over his or her face.

I was trained by a Cirque du Soleil face painter some years ago, and I have watched my art evolve over the years. I love to be creative and in-the-moment adorn each child's face with colors and designs chosen particularly for them. If 20 girls want to be princesses in succession, my joy is to create 20 different princesses, each one with face paint to compliment what is wonderful and individual about her.

Buki uses top-of-the-line theatical make-up and cosmetic grade facepaint and glitters, using appropriate amounts and types of paint each child (or adult). All my paints wash off with water, and only some require soap.

I am a stickler for cleanliness, and never reuse brushes on lips or eyes. I wash my brushes with soap and water and dip them in alcohol in between face painting jobs, to be sure that my face painting is safe for children (and adults, of course).

The brands of paint I use to cover larger areas of the face are designed for just that, so they are creamy at room temperature, feel like foundation, don't dry hard, and therefore don't itch. And of course, they come off with just water!

BUKI won FIRST PRIZE for a full-body painting of Neytiri the Avatar in the 2010 River Rock Casino Halloween costume contest! Her work won first prize in two other Halloween contests as well!

ONELight Make-Up. While Circus clowns entertain at a distance, a children's entertainer at your party works more closely with the children. Choose an entertainer with a child-friendly look. Otherwise, you may have terrified kids having the worst day of their lives instead of thrilled kids having the most fun, wonderful experience ever!

TWOHave the entertainer arrive after all the children have arrived, giving the kids several minutes to relax and feel at home at the party. A good children's entertainer will give the kids a chance to warm up to her and not approach any kids directly until it is clear tht the child is relaxed. BUKI "breaks the ice" quickly in her Silly Magic Show and inspires belly laughs within the first few minutes.
